A late-game rally by the Altoona Curve fell short as they lost to the Harrisburg Senators 7-5 on Friday at PNG Field.
The Senators were able to jump out to a commanding lead early thanks to six runs in the first three innings off of Curve starter Scooter Hightower (2-4), who gave up two crushing home runs. The Curve brought it to 7-5 by the bottom of the 9th, and had runners at first and third before Harrisburg reliever Aaron Barrett got the batter to ground out for the final out of the game.
The Curve and the Senators play again tonight at 6:00 PM. James Marvel gets the start for Altoona, while Sterling Sharp will start for Harrisburg.
