As always, buying a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania costs more than anywhere else, but at least it’s holding steady.
Triple A East Central’s weekly Gas Price Report puts the price of a gallon of self-serve at $2.63, the same as last week, and if you’re wondering, it’s ten cents higher per gallon than it was a year ago.
The average price in Indiana County this week is $2.598 per gallon, which is actually four or five cents cheaper than some of our neighboring communities, such as Latrobe and Kittanning.
The national average for a gallon of self-serve is $2.37, which is five cents per gallon more than it was a year ago. Triple-A says to expect higher demand as more travelers drive to their vacation destinations this summer, and that will mean higher gas prices.
