Two men are facing mutual assault charges after an altercation Saturday at a home in Torrance.
State Police say 21-year-old David Geisler attacked his stepfather, 53-year-old Thomas McQuaide, with a butcher knife and McQuaide used a baseball bat to defend himself. McQuaide was knocked to the ground during the fight and suffered abrasions, while Geisler was knocked on the head with the ball bat and was treated for a head wound at Excela Latrobe Hospital.
Both men are charged with felony aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment and both were ordered held at the Westmoreland County Prison. Geisler’s bond was set at $20,000 and McQuaide’s at $10,000. Both defendants have preliminary hearings scheduled before District Judge Mark Bilik at 11:15 AM on May 22nd. Geisler has a separate case pending in which he is charged with harassment for an incident in Avonmore on May 3rd.
