The Steelers beat Seattle, 32-25, on Kenny Pickett’s touchdown pass to Tyler Vaughns with three seconds to play. In his first game in the NFL game, Pickett was 13-of-15 passing with two TD passes and a two-point conversion pass for the night.
The Steelers’ other two quarterbacks, starter Mitch Trubisky and backup Mason Rudolph, also had solid nights under center. Trubisky was 4-of-7 for 63 yards and a touchdown and Rudolph was 9-of-15 for 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Steelers played with a number of regulars sidelined. On defense, linemen Cameron Heyward, Tyson Alualu and Larry Ogunjobi, linebackers T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith , and free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Offensive starters Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, Najee Harris, and Pat Freiermuth also sat out.
