Three area school boards are scheduled to meet tonight and all are considering approval of their tentative budgets, along with preparations for the start of the next school year.
The Indiana Area School Board’s agenda deals with curriculum, personnel, and service agreements with various companies and organizations. One of the personnel items is the resignation of a school district principal, although the agenda does not identity which principal that is.
The biggest item on the agenda tonight is the adoption of the tentative budget for the next fiscal year. The board will consider a $56,811,595 proposed spending plan, with expenses exceeding revenue by almost $1.9 million. Still, the plan does not include a tax increase.
Marion Center’s agenda includes the recommended approval of a tentative budget totaling $25,652,253. Real estate taxes would go up .086 mills, which is a .75 percent increase. The board will also consider approval of the ICTC budget, with Marion Center’s share being $6,628,503.
Purchase Line’s school board also meets tonight, with an agenda much like those for Indiana and Marion Center. It includes agreements and personnel decisions for the upcoming school year and a vote on the district’s proposed budget, and its share of the ICTC budget.
