Ligonier Valley clinched the Heritage Conference South division today with an 8-7 victory at Homer-Center.
Homer-Center broke a 5-5 tie with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 7-5 lead.
Ligonier Valley loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh inning, and the go-ahead run was scored.
The Rams will play West Shamokin on Monday for the Heritage Conference championship on Monday. Airtime is 6:45 on WCCS AM 1160 and 101.1 FM.
In other games on Wednesday, Derry beat Indiana, 6-1, and United topped Penns Manor, 15-5.
In softball action, Marion Center was a 12-4 winner over Northern Cambria and Latrobe nipped Ligonier Valley, 5-4.
Marion Center and Ligonier Valley will meet on Tuesday for the Heritage Conference Championship at 4 pm at a site to be determined. That game will also be broadcast on WCCS AM 1160 and 101.1 FM.
