Starting in mid-May, PennDOT will start work on the Route 286/Oakland Avenue area, which will run through mid-August.
Workers will improve the drainage system, mill and pave the roadway, install new concrete curbs, and install new ADA-compliant ramps. Work will run for 12 hours each day, from 7 AM to 7 PM. Motorists are being asked to be cautious around the road work area. Flaggers and other traffic control devices will be in effect, and PennDOT expects congestion and delays in the project area once things get underway May 15th.
All construction work is weather-dependent. Motorists are reminded to slow down in work zones and that fines are doubled for violations in work zones.
