State police in Armstrong County continue to investigate a hit-and-run road rage incident that left a woman severely injured early Sunday morning in Kittanning Township.
It happened at about 2:30 AM at Little Germany Road and Campbells Run Road. Police say the victim, whose name has not been released, was with her friends out of their car and they “were searching for ghosts” when another woman pulled up behind her car. The suspect began yelling at the victim and her friends to move off the road. After exchanging words, the suspect accelerated and smashed at high speed into the rear of the victim’s vehicle. The woman then veered around the parked vehicle and continued to accelerate around its driver’s side, smashing into the victim and dragging her twenty to thirty feet.
The victim suffered major injuries to her head, neck, and brain. The suspect vehicle, possibly a light-colored burgundy 2006 or 2007 Ford Focus, sped away on Little Germany Road. Police say it is missing its passenger side mirror and has damage to its front passenger side. The suspect driver is a white middle-aged woman with brown hair.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact state police in Kittanning at 724-543-2011.
