The Pirates lost their seventh straight game, falling 3-1 to the Dodgers last night. Adam Frazier’s RBI single in the third gave the Bucs a 1-0 lead, but that was all they could muster against Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw. Joe Musgrove took the lead into the seventh, but the Pirates defense, horrendous again, failed them, and L.A. eventually took the lead on a two-run triple by Joc Pederson.
Joe Block’s recap
Trevor Williams will try to stop the streak when he takes the mound for the Pirates today against LA’s Rich Hill, with the first pitch at 4:10 this afternoon.
The Pirates placed pitcher Chris Archer on the Injured List with right thumb inflammation. The team also announced that outfielder Corey Dickerson’s minor league injury rehab start has been delayed because of continuing shoulder pain. And Lonny Chisenhall’s rehab with Indianapolis has been put on hold because of a calf injury.
