The Indiana boys and girls track and field teams won the team titles at the Indiana County Principals Championship yesterday at Marion Center.
For the boys, Indiana’s Kendall Branan won the 400 and 800, and also ran on the 1,600 relay team, which won its race. Branan was named the Most Valuable Track Athlete of the meet. High jump and long jump winner Caleb Learn of Homer Center was named Most Valuable Field Athlete.
For the girls, Makenzie Simpson of Saltsburg was named Most Valuable Track Athlete after winning the 100, 200, and 400 meter races and running on the winning 400-meter relay team. United’s Maizee Fry captured the Most Valuable Field Athlete honor after winning the javelin, shot put, and discus.
