The Westmoreland County Drug Task Force yesterday conducted a drug sweep involving fourteen accused dealers. Twelve of the suspects were taken into custody while two remained at large as of last night. One suspect has a Blairsville address. The others are all from Westmoreland County.
Police say the drugs involved included heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine, and they identify the suspects as all being mid-level and street-level dealers.
The Blairsville resident, 21-year-old Richard Harshbarger, had the highest bond amount set against him, at $50,000. He’s charged with four felony counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver and two misdemeanor counts of possession. His incident date is listed as February 28th. Nine days earlier, he’d been charged with two counts of possession in Indiana County. That case is still active, with a preliminary hearing scheduled tomorrow.
From our area, other suspects include 39-year-old Chris Piper of Derry and 24-year-old Daniel Mock of Derry, who is still at large. The other suspects are:
