State Police from the Punxsutawney barracks are asking people to be on the lookout for a man who fled from parole officers in northern Indiana County.
Police say Randy Ray Shank Jr. was seen fleeing from officers at 188 Dug Hill Road in Canoe Township. He fled from the residence in a white Chevrolet Cavalier, but crashed that vehicle a short distance away on Barnett Hill Road. Shank is fleeing on foot and is going in an unknown direction. Police are utilizing ground patrols along with police helicopters to find him.
An active arrest warrant is out for Shank, who has criminal records in both Indiana and Jefferson counties. Police say he is known to have violent tendencies. He is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 165 lbs, with short reddish hair, a full beard or moustache, a thin build, and was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt with possibly a John Deere logo on it and blue jeans.
If you have any information on Shank’s location or if you have encountered him, call 9-1-1 or call state police directly at 814-938-0510.
