The NFL could be making its decision on whether or not Deshaun Watson violated the league’s personal conduct policy. ESPN reports that NFL disciplinary officer Sue L. Robinson is expected to issue a ruling today in regards to Watson’s case, which could lead to a potential suspension. Robinson heard arguments from the league, players union and Watson’s attorney during a three-day hearing. The NFL is pushing for a year-long suspension for the former Texans and current Browns quarterback. Watson has already settled 20 of the 24 lawsuits he was facing after being accused of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct.
The 49ers are extending their top wideout. San Francisco has agreed to a three-year, 73.5-million-dollar extension with wide receiver Deebo Samuel. The deal includes 58.1-million-dollars in guarantees. Samuel had been seeking a lucrative deal to remain in San Francisco, and previously requested a trade from the Niners in April. The 26-year-old has played in 38 regular season games since he was selected with the 36th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the 49ers out of South Carolina.
The NFL Preseason starts this Thursday with the Hall of Fame Game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders. Kick-off is at 8 p.m.
