The Indiana County sports world is sad today after hearing of the death of former IUP basketball coach Carl Davis.
Davis, pictured on the left with Jack Benedict, passed away Tuesday night at age 85. The IUP and Indiana County Hall of Fame coach won 199 games in 13 seasons , with nine appearances in post season play. Prior to coming to IUP, Davis won more than 300 games at Jeannette High School. He also coached the IUP baseball team for three seasons, making the playoffs each year.
The viewing will be next Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p .m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Irwin ,Pa. Services will be held Next Wednesday at 11 a.m.
