On Friday, State Police joined up with the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and PennDOT to raise awareness to road safety concerning large farm vehicles.

Now that the weather has improved, the frequency of farm vehicles on the roadway is expected to increase. State Police Public Information Officer Cliff Greenfield talked about some of the things people should keep in mind if they see any farm vehicles on the road.

Joe Diamond of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau said the goal of yesterday’s event is to reduce the number of accidents involving farm vehicles.

So if you see a tractor out on the roadway, the best thing you can do is be patient and wait for a safe opportunity to pass. Also remember that if you can’t see the driver through their rear-view mirrors, they can’t see you.
