It’s a very busy day today in the Indiana County courts, with more than forty cases on the docket, almost all of them for driving under the influence and related offenses, including drunk drivers who tried to flee from pursuing police officers.
Six of the cases before the court today are for the sentencing of defendants who have already pleaded guilty in DUI cases. Fifteen cases involve defendants who have agreed to plead guilty and will be sentenced at the same time. Twenty-three cases are DUI Criminal Call.
Only one of today’s cases is not for DUI, and it involves a defendant who will be sentenced for possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct. He will also be sentenced for DUI in a separate case.
