On Tuesday, the River Valley School District approved an agreement with engineers to provide design services for the new stadium, but the board did hear of some concerns with the costs of the project.
The agreement has River Valley paying the company at most $695,820 for designing the stadium, track, football field and buildings at the River Valley School property. Board President Rick Harper said that there is a concern over the cost of the project due to the recent changes in the economy.
In other business, the board approved several policies that finalized the changeover of names to the River Valley School District, the district’s configuration, policy for admissions for students at the STEAM academy, the STEAM academy student enrollment evaluation and the STEAM academy non-resident eligibility requirements. Board Members Beverly Caranese and Jessica Clawson voted against each of these items, while Nathan Baird voted against everything but policy for admissions for students.
