Brush fire season continues in our area as first responders went out to three brush fires yesterday.
The first brush fire was reported by Indiana County 911 at 3:43 PM on Cunningham Road in Armstrong Township. The Indiana Fire Association Company 1 was on the scene for that fire. Within three minutes of that fire being reported, a second brush fire was reported in Blacklick Township at an area on Route 286. Aultman fire department was initially called out, and Coal Run Fire Department was called in later to assist at the scene.
A third brush fire was reported minutes later at 3:51PM. Commodore Volunteer Fire Department was initially called out to 875 Hillsdale Drive in Montgomery for the fire. Cherry Tree and Glen Campbell Fire Departments were also called to the scene later on. The Commodore Fire Department website reported that a few hay bales had caught fire. Crews extinguished and tore apart the hay bales to make sure the fire did not spread.
