INDIANA BOROUGH
Indiana Borough Police have charged a Nanty-Glo woman with robbery and related crimes along with drug paraphernalia possession.
Police say around 5:12 PM on Friday, 20-year-old Arlene Kupchella of Nanty-Glo forcibly took a cell phone from a woman on South 9th street, and then tried to flee the area on foot. She was stopped by an off-duty Johnstown police officer. When borough officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that the cell phone wasn’t the only thing Kupchella took. She also had money and keys that belonged to the victim. Once she was in custody, police also discovered heroin paraphernalia. Kupchella was taken to Indiana County jail to await preliminary arraignment.
Kupchella faces charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Indiana borough police report of a man from Drexel Hill charged with disorderly gathering during IUPatty’s weekend.
Charges were filed against 23-year-old Sean Roberts of Drexel Hill. He was in the 700 block of Grant Street hosting a party that got disorderly. Roberts was charged via non-traffic citation with violating Indiana Borough Code concerning disorderly gathering.
Indiana Borough Police are asking for information on a bike theft between May 8th and 9th. The theft happened in the 100 block of North 9th Street. The bike is described as a black Trek-brand bicycle. Call the police at 724-349-2121 if you have any information.
