IUP’s Council of Trustees met on Thursday and heard about the university’s budget. Driscoll mentioned that the university is only $400,000 in the red going into the next school year, and the debt reduction was due to their budget reset plan. He said that will put the university on the right path for the foreseeable future.
In other business, the Council of Trustees said farewell to two of its members. Erika Fenstermacher has served as the council’s student representative and is stepping down as she is graduating this weekend. The other retirement is Gailey Wallwork, who has been a fixture on the council since 1991. President Driscoll mentioned that in his time on council, 77,675 degrees have been conferred at IUP.
The next Council of Trustees meeting will be held September 7th.
