The Penguins got an early lead en route to a 3-1 win over the Caroilina Hurricanes in Pittsburgh Sunday.
Garrett Wilson, Matt Cullen and Patrick Hornqvist tallied goals for the Pens. Matt Murray had 37 saves.
Pittsburgh will play its last road game of the regular season when they face the Red Wings Tuesday night. The Pens remain in third place in the standings with 97 points. The Penguins need two points via either a victory in any fashion, a pair of overtime losses or any single loss by Montreal to extend the NHL’s longest active postseason streak.
