On Tuesday evening, the Blairsville Borough Council continued its work on a facade ordinance.
The ordinance will ensure that unoccupied buildings within the downtown business district remain in good condition and look like they are open for business. Borough Manager Mike Baker said that it’s not just for making sure that things look good.
Last night’s work represented the first look on the ordinance.
Council also worked on a LERTA ordinance for the borough. The Local Economic Revitalization Tax Act would provide tax abatement for ten years in the borough for those who have significant construction for commercial or residential facility. More comment is expected on the LERTA ordinance is expected to come next month.
