Chancellor Dan Greenstein continues to lead the State System of Higher Education’s redesign, outlining in his latest blog the next steps in the process.
Greenstein focuses his newest message on a review of the “sharing system” that the State System is fashioning, in which the fourteen individual universities work together to give students access to programs at schools other than the one they are attending, strive to retain students all the way through graduation, focus on programs that meet workforce demand and attract adult and returning students, and remain affordable.
He then offers three “next steps”:
- Forming expert task groups to recommend how to redesign education, operations, and support services;
- Naming a steering committee to advise him and the Board of Governors on the “direction, priorities, and policy and funding” to move forward with the System Redesign;
- Strengthening the channels for communicating the progress of the redesign and gather input.
The System Redesign began in 2016, before Greenstein’s arrival as chancellor.
