Groundbreaking ceremonies were held earlier today to kick start construction on a sewage service extension project.
With a backhoe digging out some earth at a property near Campbell Lane, the projected 18-month project officially started today. Township manager Chris Anderson said that everyone in the township, from the government officials to the workers, take this and other similar projects very seriously.
The project is funded through $3 million in financing, plus a $250,000 grant that was acquired by Senator Joe Pittman’s office. Pittman said that this project represents the spirit of collaboration.
The project is expected to bring sanitary sewer service to a combined 36 homes and businesses in the northeast corner of the township. Video from today’s ceremonies can be found on our Facebook page and on our website.
