A pole building in South Mahoning Township caught fire, and that called out several fire departments.
Plumville, Marion Center, Rural Valley and Dayton fire departments along with tanker trucks from Perry Township and Clymer fire departments and Citizens’ Ambulance were called out at 2:38 PM on Thursday for the fire at a 40 x 80 foot pole building at the home of Donald Bicker of Dayton. Rick Stenman with the Plumville fire department said that the building and its contents were a total loss. That included several vehicles, farm equipment and many tools. The fire also damaged a car along one of the walls.
The cause of the fire was not known. Fire Marshals from the state police were on the scene yesterday investigating, along with members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. If you have any information on the fire, call the state police fire marshals at the Ridgway Barracks at 814-776-6136.
