IUP men’s basketball will start the next season with a tough challenge as they will take on Syracuse to open its campaign, according to IUP Athletics.
The Crimson Hawks normally open their seasons facing top Division I opponents, and this year was no exception. Last year, IUP opened its season against Big 10 opponent Illinois, a season that saw the Crimson Hawks win their third PSAC title and appear in the Division II national semifinals.
Syracuse, under the direction of coach Jim Boeheim, finished last season 16-17, 9-11 in the ACC.
The matchup is slated for Tuesday, October 25 at Syracuse.
