An inmate at the State Correctional Facility in Indiana County is due in court today for pre-trial conferences in five different cases.
33-year-old Randy Maurice Criste-Troutman of Monroe County will go before President Judge Thomas Bianco today for the hearings. Most of the cases have to do with violence inside a prison facility, as he faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault by a prisoner, aggravated harassment by a prisoner for incidents in August and December of 2018 and February, April and June of 2019.
He had been serving time in SCI Pine Grove for his part in the killing of Demetrio Hughes. Criste-Troutman pleaded guilty in September of 2021 to third degree murder and was ordered to serve up to 40 years in prison.
