Pennsylvania state troopers will join troopers from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia today to launch the “6-State Trooper Project,” focusing on enforcing the state’s “Move Over Law.”
The law requires drivers approaching or passing an emergency response area to move over to a lane not adjacent to the emergency or if that is not available, slowing to not more than 20 miles per hour. State police say they will be using a zero-tolerance enforcement approach between today and next Saturday, and will also be watching for distracted, aggressive, and intoxicated drivers.
