There were no reported injuries in a house fire call that brought out members of the Indiana Fire Association, the county Rapid Intervention Team and Citizens Ambulance Thursday afternoon.
Companies 1 and 4 were dispatched to the fire at 2:53 PM to a location on Timber Springs Drive in White Township. Indiana Fire officials said that the fire was started in the basement as some packs of lithium batteries that were charging caught fire. The homeowner was able to get the battery packs out of the basement and the house before too much damage was caused. Fire crews remained on-scene to ventilate the basement. Damage was minor and there were no reported injuries.
That was one of two calls that Indiana Firefighters responded to over the last 24 hours. The other was to provide “air assist” for an incident on Oakland Avenue in Indiana Borough at 1:27 this morning.
Meanwhile, Rossiter Volunteer Fire Department was busy this morning with an incident on Johnsonburg Road in Canoe Township to assist EMTs on-scene. As part of that, they set up a landing zone near Central Street.
