Pickering says he had a lot of first impression takeaways from the camp.
The 6-4 defenseman repeated his self-evaluation from before the camp. He has to hit the weight room.
Penguins free agent forward Anthony Angello yesterday signed with the Buffalo Sabres. Angello is a big, rugged skater who spent most of last season injured with Wilkes-Bare/Scranton.
The Tampa Bay Lightning pulled off a surprise yesterday, signing Penguins minor league prospect Felix Robert to an NHL-level contract after the Penguins declined to do so. Robert scored 16 goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season. The Penguins had Robert on an AHL-level contract for the last two seasons.
