The Steelers intend to release safety Morgan Burnett after one season. Burnett had 30 tackles and six passes defended in 11 games as the team’s dime-formation linebacker. The move will save the team 3.63 million dollars against the cap. He had two years left on his contract.
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski announced on Instagram that he is retiring from the NFL after nine seasons. Gronkowski, who turns 30 in May, leaves as a three-time Super Bowl champion and one of the most dominant tight ends in the history of the NFL.
Also announcing his retirement is former Eagles and Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.
