The Indiana Area Collaborative Team’s Public Information Officer Michelle Fryling has reported that statistics over the first two days and nights of the unsanctioned “IUPatty’s” celebrations, for the most part, are comparable to last year.
The recent round of statistics, according to a news release from Fryling, showed more foot and vehicle traffic around IUP from the university police force. 25 arrests were made for alcohol, one for drug related charges. Nine of of the arrests were students, while 17 others were for non-students.
Indiana Borough Police reported 87 calls for service, which was an increase of 10 from last year. A total of 11 people were charged with drug or alcohol offenses. Five of those 11 were students, 2 of them non-student residents, and 4 non-student IUP visitors.
State police reported four drug arrests, two DUI’s, one drug possession arrest, 103 traffic citations and 23 written warnings.
There were no reports on any large gatherings, and no spikes in activity among EMT’s and Indiana Regional Medical Center.
