On Wednesday night, the Penns Manor School Board hired a new K-12 assistant principal.
Matthew Carney comes to the district from the Punxsutawney School district and has also worked in several private institutions. He talks about what he looks forward to as the new assistant principal.
In other business, Superintendent Daren Johnston talked about the increases in state subsidies that the district will receive. Johnston said that the district will see an increase in over $390,000 in state subsidies, and that will cover the budget deficit.
The board also re-hired Richard Mazey as the district athletic director and accepted the resignations of Donna Carney as the Social Studies Curriculum Leader and Kim Rhea as Science Curriculum Leader.
