The White Township Supervisors received a draft of some language that could be added to the dangerous structure ordinance.
This is part of recent work that the Comprehensive Plan Steering Commission as they have been considering either adding new language to the ordinance or to create a new ordinance related to swimming pools. The discussion came on the heels of the death of a five-year-old White Township boy who was found dead in a swimming pool after wandering away from home in July of 2021. The language would add more structures to the existing ordinance that would become a nuisance if they are not kept in good order.
Township Manager Chris Anderson said that the township is still some time away from these being officially added to the dangerous structure ordinance.
In other business, the township authorized the Recreation director to move forward with accepting a bid to remove dangerous trees at the township’s caretaker house and sell the lumber. Griffith Lumber, LLC of Mahaffey will pay the township $2000 for the removal of the lumber.
