State police are investigating an identity theft that happened on July 8th. Troopers say that a 55-year-old Indiana man went to the state police station and reported that an unknown person gained access to his debit card and cleaned him out of $10,000 from his bank account. The investigation is ongoing.
An Avonmore man could face DUI charges for an incident early Saturday morning in East Wheatfield Township. State police say that a Chevy Silverado was seen swerving on Route 22 East near McClain Hill Road at 1:29 AM on Saturday. The truck then straddled the center lane divider before swerving to the right lane and straddled the white fog line three times. A traffic stop was conducted at that point and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI-drugs. Charges are pending the result of a blood test.
The driver of a motorcycle was hurt in a crash last Saturday in Burrell Township. State police say that 61-year-old Kenneth Burk of United in Mt. Pleasant Township was going south on Route 217 when his motorcycle hit a deer. The bike went another five feet after impact before crashing in the southbound lane. The motorcycle was disabled. Burk had minor injuries in the crash.
No injuries were reported in a crash on June 28th in White Township. State police report that 20-year-old Jacob Brown of Armagh was driving on Rose Street near Kolter Drive at 7:39 AM when he fell asleep at the wheel and drove off into a ditch on the south side of the road. The impact caused the car to roll over onto its roof.
