IUP will hold a special rally today to show unity and solidarity with the victims of the recent mass shooting in New Zealand.
The Racial Justice Coalition for Change will hold the “Stand in Solidarity” starting at noon today in front of the Stapleton Library in the Oak Grove. According to the announcement from the Racial Justice Coalition for Change, the event will allow them to “gather, grieve together, and support each other as we stand steadfastly against Islamophobia, racism, xenophobia, and hate.”
The attacks on the Al Noor Mosque and the Linwood Islamic Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand on March 15th left 50 dead and 50 others injured. The incident has been called the deadliest mass shooting in modern New Zealand history.
The Stand in Solidarity starts at 12 noon and goes until 1:00 pm.
