A member of the public voiced his opinion on allowing the gay pride flag to be posted on a borough building flagpole during Tuesday night’s Indiana Borough Council Meeting.
Last month, the borough entertained a motion to allow the gay pride flag to be flown on a flagpole that once held a police memorial flag. Last night during the public comment portion of the meeting,
Bob Colgan said that he felt it was wrong to post any other flag than the US Flag.
In other business, the borough authorized Manager Nicole Sipos to draft a letter to execute a loan with M&T Bank. Sipos said that the money would be used for maintenance at the borough building.
Borough council also approved a motion to allow for the closure of Philadelphia Street between 5th and 6th Streets, and North 6th Street from Philadelphia Street to Nixon Avenue as part of the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival. This will allow for an expanded vendor area.
