Many people came out to the KCAC for a benefit basketball game with members of the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Indiana Basketball Boosters.
While the game was a low-scoring affair, the opportunity to see current and former members of the Pittsburgh Steelers was the big draw, as was the chance to help the Indiana Basketball Boosters, the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug and Alcohol Commission and the Care Center for Indiana County. Former Steelers Quarterback Charlie Batch said it was an honor for him to play in these games, and to help the three different charities at the same time.
House Majority Leader Dave Reed, who was a member of the Indiana Basketball Boosters “Old School Ballers” team, relished the opportunity to play against someone he grew up watching: Louis Lipps.
Other Steelers members on the team included Ray Philon, Lavan Hooks, Anthony Chickilo, BJ Flemming and Matt Filer.
By the way, the Steelers beat the Old School Ballers 57-42.
