On the Indiana County Court schedule today, there’s a hearing on a petition for collateral relief filed by a Strongstown man who pleaded guilty to robbing the Strongstown General Store in Pine Township in October of 2016.
29-year-old Cruze Earl Lee Davis walked into the store wearing a mask and demanded cash. The clerk handed him $668 and he ran out of the store. Investigators used video surveillance footage and interviews with witnesses and acquaintances to identify Davis. They were told that after he left the store, he walked to a friend’s home nearby seeking a ride to Shelocta to buy heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.
Cruze pleaded guilty to a single count of felony robbery and was sentenced to eighteen month to five years in prison. Last October, he asked for and was granted a new attorney from outside of the public defender’s office. The new petition for relief was filed in January.
