Two of IUP’s services have received accreditation by oversight organizations.
The university yesterday announced that the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care gave its stamp of approval to IUP’s health Service office. IUP submits to a voluntary evaluation of its Health Center. The Nurse Director of the Health Center, Melissa Dick, says it involves a rigorous examination of the facility itself, the staff and its procedures. The Health Service is a part of the Rhonda H. Luckey Center for Health and Well-Being, located in the Suites on Maple East.
IUP’s Geospatial Intelligence Certificate program has been accredited by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation. IUP’s program is one of only seventeen in the world, offering both undergraduate and graduate certificates in Geospatial Intelligence. The program is part of the university’s Department of Geography and Regional Planning, with a special emphasis on cartography.
IUP’s modern cartography program is one of the largest undergraduate geography programs in the nation.
