In Indiana County Court today, two defendants are scheduled for sentencing, and there is also a Plea Court appearance for a DUI defendant.
60-year-old Steven Shawn Stempf of Indiana will be sentenced for a guilty plea to misdemeanor indecent assault, with agreement for non-prosecution for felony aggravated indecent assault. The incident happened in August of last year. The sentencing will include the results of an evaluation by the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board under provisions of the state’s Megan’s Law.
Also in court today, Rebecca Lynn Barnhart of Homer City is scheduled to be sentenced in a controlled substance possession case, but her court docket sheet does not detail which of the two charges she pled to.
The Plea Court appearance involves 62-year-old Jerome Saxfield of Home, who is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding the traffic lane, and careless driving. His blood-alcohol content measured more than twice the legal limit when he was stopped by state police last March.
