JB Shuck and Josh Bell hit home runs in a five-run fifth inning, as the Pirates defeated Baltimore, 10-4, Tuesday afternoon in Sarasota, Fla. Bell’s homer drove in three runs.
Starter Chris Archer walked the first batter he faced but retired the next six hitters, four on strikeouts. Steven Brault picked up the pitching win.
The Bucs make their second trip to Fort Myers tomorrow, this time to play the Red Sox. Nick Kingham, a potential fifth starting pitcher this season, will make his third start of the spring.
