The Greensburg Catholic Diocese warned their parishioners on Sunday during Mass that there was a phishing scam going around.
The scammer is sending text messages to parishioners and will make it seem like the person sending the texts is actually their priest. The scammer will ask the potential victim to buy certain gift cards, and then reply back to them with the card number and the amount of money on the card number.
During that announcement on Sunday, parishioners were told not to reply to such messages.
