The state Liquor Control Board this week announced the distribution of liquor license fees to municipalities, covering August 1st lat year through January 31st of this year, but it’s not exactly a windfall for Indiana County.
In all, more than $2 million was returned to 1,123 municipalities across the commonwealth, but only a thousand dollars are coming back here. That includes $300 each for Indiana Borough and White Township and $200 each for Center Township and Green Township.
Depending on the type of license an establishment holds, the PLCB returns a portion of the license fee to the home municipality for each establishment. The disbursements happen twice each year. The money can be used in whatever way each municipality chooses.
