Also in Indiana County Court today, the man accused of homicide in the shooting that happened over IUPatty’s weekend had the charges against him held for court.
This preliminary hearing happened earlier today, as 20-year-old Matthew McNevin was told he will face trial on charges of criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, and single counts of carrying a firearm without a license and receiving stolen property in the shooting on March 25th that killed Carlos Recalde-Campos and wounded Samantha Riley. As part of the testimony today, Riley testified, and District Attorney Patrick Dougherty said it was a testament to her courage.
Also today, Thomas Stanko, who was involved in another shooting from IUPatty’s weekend, had his preliminary hearing, but Dougherty said that charges of attempted criminal homicide were dropped. His hearing was continued to a later date.
