Another candidate has announced their intent to run for Indiana County Commissioner.
R. Michael Keith, the chairman of the Rayne Township Supervisors, has announced his bid for the commissioners position. Along with his work with the Rayne Township Supervisors, he also serves on the Indiana County Association of Township Officials as their president, and is the Vice President of the Indiana Westmoreland Council of Government. According to a news release, Keith has 34 years in the manufacturing field in a variety of positions, including plant manager.
Keith’s platforms include working with other county leaders to foster additional economic growth, and trying to get the most for a taxpayer’s dollar.
Keith will run on the Republican Ballot. He joins Maria Jack and Bob Colgan, who have also announced their candidacy for the Republican nomination. Current Democratic county commissioner Sherene Hess will seek re-election, while her Republican counterparts, Mike Baker and Rod Ruddock, have announced they will not run for re-election. Also on the Democratic ticket is Donald Lancaster, a current member of Indiana Borough Council.
