In the Minors, the Altoona Curve came from behind not once, but twice, to beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 8-7 Friday night in Manchester.
Henry Davis recorded his first multi-hit game at the Double-A level, notching two hits and two RBI’s. Brent Citta was 3-of-5 for the day with two RBI’s as well. Altoona’s offense woke up as each Curve batter reached base in the game.
Altoona trailed 4-2 after two innings, and after tying the game back up in the top of the third, New Hampshire went into the lead 6-4. Altoona would respond with a single run in the 5th, then three in the seventh to pull ahead 8-6. New Hampshire tried to come back, but only mustered one run in the process.
Tahnaj Thomas picked up the win in relief while Omar Cruz held the lead and Tyler Samaniego picked up his fourth save of the season.
Altoona and New Hampshire continue their series tonight. Quinn Priester will start for the Curve against New Hampshire’s Luis Quinones.
