58-year-old Tammy Felbaum of Seward was taken into custody yesterday by Westmoreland County sheriff’s deputies and Judge Rita Hathaway vacated the bench warrant against her, extending her recognizance bond. But she is still being held, this time on a warrant from Allegheny County.
Felbaum was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to plead guilty to summary disorderly conduct for claiming to have guns and a rocket launcher as she tried to enter the county courthouse in February. Along with disorderly conduct, she was charged with terroristic threats, but those charges were to be dropped in the plea bargain. She told Judge Hathaway she didn’t know about Wednesday’s court appearance, so the judge ordered the hearing to be rescheduled.
Felbaum, with a long criminal history both as Tammy Felbaum and as Thomas Wyda before having a sex change operation, is being held on an Allegheny County bench warrant for a DUI accident on December 20th of last year.
