A man well known in the Indiana County Law Enforcement Community has announced he will run for Sheriff.
Lou Sacco made it official that he will seek the Democratic nomination for Sheriff. Sacco is known as the former long-time chief of the Homer City Police Department. Sacco lead the Homer City police from 1991 when he was named Officer in Charge to his retirement from Homer City police in 2016 as their chief. Sacco has stayed active in law enforcement by serving the Clymer and Cherry Tree township police departments as a part-time officer, and he has also served as deputy sheriff in the past.
Sacco has also gone to many different schools in the area, giving talks to Indiana County’s youth on a wide variety of topics including drunk driving, seat belt use, and the consequences of drug use.
While Sacco will run for the Democratic nomination for Sheriff in the upcoming primary election, current Sheriff Bob Fyock said he will run for re-election on the Republican ticket.
