Some federal housing funds are coming to Indiana County. The U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department yesterday announced more than $1.9 million to twenty-four public housing authorities across Pennsylvania.
One of those housing agencies is the Housing Authority of Indiana County, which will receive $39,589. The funding is intended to help families with educational opportunities, job training, childcare, and other resources to improve their job prospects and work toward self-sufficiency and the opportunity to own their own home.
Neighboring Armstrong County ($26,587) and Westmoreland County ($211,516) also received HUD funds.
